Sean is a Baltimore, MD native who has been involved with lacrosse as a player and coach for most of his life. He was an All-State midfielder in high school and was recruited by multiple top-ten D1 and D3 collegiate programs. He chose to play at Howard University where he captained the team for three years and eventually coached for four years. Sean was also instrumental in forming Howard’s women's D1 lacrosse program. He has been coaching his daughter Jaelyn (7th grade) since she was very young and officially with PG Lax for the past four years. He also coaches his son Nate (3rd grade) in lacrosse, while his wife Tia truly enjoys being a team mom! When he’s not coaching, Sean works as a Sales Director for an NYC based technology company. Sean is a PG Lax board member, he also coaches for a regional girl's lacrosse club and he has his US Lacrosse Level 2 Certification.
Brittany Cupo is joining PGLAX this spring as an assistant coach for the 3/4 Black team with Hugh Wilson. She is a Junior at Rider University where she is a double major in Sports Management and Marketing. Brittany has been playing lacrosse for four years and is the current President of the Women's Lacrosse Club at Rider University. When she’s not playing lacrosse or studying, Brittany can be found working at the IOffice of Multicultural Affairs at Rider University. This is Brittany’s first experience coaching and she couldn’t be more enthusiastic about working with the 3/4 Black team.
Nicole is a senior at The College of New Jersey and this will be her second year coaching for PG Lax. She is majoring in Health and Exercise Science and hopes to continue her studies in graduate school for Physical Therapy. Nicole has been playing lacrosse for eight years and currently plays for TCNJ’s club team where she is also team Captain and club President. This spring Nicole will be assisting Martin with the 5/6 Orange team. When Nicole is not playing lacrosse, she enjoys exercising, watching movies and spending time with friends. Nicole hails from North Jersey and she has three siblings, one of whom is her twin sister.
Chaz is returning to the PGLAX coaching staff for his fifth year. He is coaching the 7/8 Black team along with Barbara Rebak and his wife, Debby Foster. Chaz (and Debby) and the proud parents of Caroline (8th grade) and Harry (sophomore at Lawrenceville). Outside of lacrosse, Chaz keeps busy with KBB partners, a firm he founded four years ago, with offices in Princeton and New York City. Chaz recently received his US Lacrosse Level 1 coaching certification. Chaz played football, soccer and swam for Westminster High School in Atlanta, Georgia, and he played D1 water polo for Washington & Lee University. Since moving to Princeton in 2004, Chaz has coached boys and girls recreational league soccer, baseball, football and lacrosse.
Debby will be returning to the coaching staff for her ninth year. She will be coaching the 7/8 Black team along with Barbara Rebak and her husband, Chaz Foster. Debby (and Chaz) are the proud parents of Caroline and Harry, and when she's not coaching she can be found at Princeton University working on various internal consulting projects. Debby has her US Lacrosse Level 1 coaching certificate. Debby played varsity lacrosse and field hockey at Radnor High School. She also has two years experience at the collegiate level having played lacrosse for Princeton University. Debby now currently serves as the PGLAX Board President.
This will be Brig's second year coaching for PG Lax. Brig is passionate about triathlons, completed his first full Ironman in 2016, and will be running the Boston Marathon this year. Brig played collegiate soccer at the University of Pennsylvania as a freshman. He began his career as a fighter pilot, flying both Harriers and F-15s and is now an airline pilot for JetBlue Airways. Brig will be coaching his daughter, Sarah, on the 5/6 Black team along with Angela Holanda. When not coaching, training or flying, Brig spends his time with wife Lori and daughters Sarah and Shoshi (who is on the 7/8 team). Brig has his US Lacrosse Level 1 coaching certificate and is the PG Lax Board Treasurer.
Martin is passionate about girls lacrosse and is a Level One certified coach for the 5/6 Orange team with Nicole Ellis. This is Martin's third year coaching with PG Lax, and you can often hear him speaking to the girls about the pitch (field), gum shields (mouth guards) and boots (cleats)! Martin and wife Nicky have three girls, Georgia 5/6, Maddie 7/8 and Jessie who is now a PGLax alumna. Away from lacrosse and work, Martin enjoys watching his girls others sports (field hockey & swimming) and family vacations, and he can be seen running around the streets of Princeton with RAP, a local running club. Martin is a keen triathlete and this year he will be competing in the London Triathlon and his second full Ironman in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec.
Val is thrilled to join the PG Lax coaching staff this spring. She will be assisting Nikki Vermut with the 3/4 Orange team. Val grew up a few miles down the road in East Windsor, NJ and she started playing lacrosse in the fifth grade. She’s currently a freshman at Rutgers New Brunswick and a plays for the Rutgers Women’s Club Lacrosse Team. She loves working with our 3/4 girls and and sharing with them her enthusiasm and love of the game. When she’s not playing or coaching lacrosse, Val can usually be found in the library doing her school work or out and about with her college friends.
Barbara is returning for her 3rd season as a coach for PGLAX. She is coaching her daughter Grace, a 7th Grader at JW, on the 7-8 Black Team. Barbara has played many sports throughout her life and continues to run, swim and cross train, and she is always happy to be on a field coaching the girls. When not coaching, Barbara spends many hours on the other side of the field, cheering for Grace and her two older brothers who both play two sports at PHS as well as club squash. Barbara and her husband Rob live on Jefferson Road in Princeton. Barbara will be receiving her US Lacrosse Level 1 Certification in March and is a member of the PGLAX Board.
Every year, Abby gets very excited for spring arrive, not only because she doesn't like the cold but also because spring means lacrosse! 2017 marks Abby's fifth year coaching her daughter, Peyton, at PG Lax. She will be coaching the 7/8 Orange team with Sean Bennett. Abby played lacrosse at Princeton High School and continued on to play for one year for Yale University; she also played four years on the Yale's women's squash team. When she's not coaching or cheering for her other kids from the sidelines, Abby spends most of her time at BlackRock on the other side of Route 1. She and her husband, Spencer, are also the proud parents of Spencer (Lafayette), Sydney (Princeton) and James (Riverside). Abby is a PG LAX Board member and she has her US Lacrosse Level 1 Certification.
Nikki Vermut is thrilled that her two daughters, Jordyn (7th grade at JW) and Joelle (4th grade at Johnson Park), have taken up lacrosse. Nikki played varsity lacrosse at Rutgers Prep High School and club lacrosse at Emory University. This is her second years coaching for PGLAX, and this year she will be coaching the 3/4 Orange team along with Val Ragno. When she’s not coaching, Nikki can be found behind the wheel driving her four kids to practice. In addition to Jordyn and Joelle, Nikki and her husband, Michael, are also the parents of boys Gabriel (2nd grade at Johnson Park) and William (pre-K at PDS), and of course, their other favorite child, dog Casey! Nikki is also an attorney, she’s on the PG Lax Board, and will obtain her US Lacrosse Level 1 certification this spring.
Hugh and his family are in their second year in Princeton, having moved from New York City via two years abroad in the Dominican Republic. He taught his daughters, Arianna (now 3rd grade, JP) and Camila (9th grade, Hotchkiss), to play lacrosse last year and is honored to be coaching Arianna as well as 3/4 Black this year! Hugh played high school lacrosse at St. Albans in Washington DC. When he’s not spending time with wife Claudina or his girls (our third, Caterina, is in 8th grade at the Lewis School) he pursues a creative life as a painter and writer. Before married life, Hugh spent several years living and painting in remote communities around the world, so if your girls come home saying, ‘In Africa…’ it probably came from him!
